I normally copy and save the regular one any time I pop in a different save - then (I recommend) actually deleting - not copying over - the original one before I put in the new one. Every now and then I make another folder - say "At Banapur after the raid", and then copy the two (or four) files into it.

Yup - some of us wish we were still 50! I reckon you have the club record, Speedy! I thought I was about the oldest bugger here, but I think TakeOut is 73 or so.Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\3281115e-91f5-4ecd-beb4-77f45ca9562e\420 <- 420 is automatically used all the time. I'm not sure how big those are and what kind of impact it would have on your monthly data usage.

Also if you have limited download per month be aware that every new custom map you play is being pulled across the internet to you. Not being able to play online however will prevent you from being able to browse and play the custom maps since those come from the Ubisoft servers. it will probably complain that you have to play offline, but so what since you want to play it offline anyway. if you block Uplay somehow you might still be able to play Far Cry 4. Note however uplay requires an online connection as well. I wouldn't even bother starting steam up and just launch Uplay and start Far Cry 4 from there. In terms of breaking away from Steam - even if you bought the game from Steam it will still install and require you to use Uplay. Good to know where they are none the less and as bontainer says it's a good habit if you play the single player campaign to periodically make copies of your saves. Of course those save games are just for the single player game as I said so unless we could figure out how to enable saving in custom maps then it may not help much. So yours might be C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\145f95a3-09cd-48be-bbee-622dabd29220\420 - basically all that stuff after \savegames\ is unique to each person. When bontainer says gibberish in the file path he means that every persons game has a random string of characters in the save game file path.

experimentation would be necessary to see what the engine allows. I have NO idea if or how this would work. Not sure if he got the save system working, but I think I know which file he was messing with (\engine\gamemodes\gamemodesconfig.xml) so I can at least take a look at it. I know a guy name Fino found a way to incorporate single player stuff in the editor like skills, leveling up, etc. I *might* be able to mod something for this, but not sure as it's something we've never messed with. Alas there is no save system for custom maps.
